It’s the age-old question, how can I make my closet more versatile? How can I take those pieces I wear so casually and turn them into date-night-chic? In all honesty, there is no “simple” answer to this question BUT there are always suggestions from a fellow fashionista!
This swearer is every.thing. So bright, cozy, and most of all versatile! It’s pretty much a ray of sunshine in my otherwise dark and dreary winter clothing collection [I’m the black-wearing queen, after all]. It screams “relaxed” yet is oh-so adaptable.
Pair with distressed denim, sneaks [or casual booties as I did] and you’re daytime set. Errands, chasing the kids around, anything goes in this combination.
But, busy lives [and needy infants] call for quick outfit changes. Here’s where I get to have a little more fun and add some sass to an outfit. Bring.on.date.night! Sadly, [for the hubby and me] these are few and far between with a 10 month old but we had an opportunity last weekend while visiting friends in Chicago.
As shown, my obsession with anything [faux] leather is at an all-time-high right now. These Gentle Fawn [high waisted] leggings are a go-to whenever I need to jazz an outfit up. Perfectly tightens the buns, [amen new mamas out there], and the ankle length is great with booties.
Adding simple jewelry is always a necessity when taking a garment from day to night. I’m a lover of layering pieces to create that effortless-elegant appearance.
Clothes should be your art. Never be afraid to take that comfy-cozy piece and transform it to meet the needs of your occasion, whether it be playing on the floor with the littles or a nice dinner out with the hubs!
Hugs,
Ashley
